There was a moment in time where we were trying to figure out how do we make
very clear to the audience that Vanellope is falling in love with this world go Slaughter Race?

It came, weirdly, organically out of just that idea of what if she sang a song?

And then what if it were a very earnest, princess-type “want” song, but done in this morally ambiguous world of Slaughter Race.

All the Disney princesses have that quest song where they see what they want in their sights.

So, this is hers.

And it’s this beautiful, Disney-esque kind of song.

Initially, it was like “What if we got an Alan Menken-type to do the music?” Ha-ha-ha…

“Wouldn’t that be cool?” “Oh, that would be so cool.”

And then the more we thought about it, “How about Alan Menken?”

When your heart sings, it’s probably something written by Alan Menken.

Vanellope is kind of an un-traditional princess, so we wanted to have a classic princess song, but, you know, with a twist in the lyrics.

It’s looking a little dangerous, but behind it is this very earnest song,

She got the whole idea of it very quickly.

She was like, “This is awesome.”
ガルなんて「これほんとすごい」って感じだったよ。
Johnston ジョンストン：
It dawns on me how crazy this movie is.
その時はじめてわかったよこの映画がどれほど馬鹿げてるかってね。
I forgot there is a scene where Gal Gadot and Sarah Silverman sing a duet.
忘れてたよ、ガル・ガドットとサラ・シルヴァーマンがデュエットするシーンがあるなんて。
Of course, there is, like…
もちろん忘れてなんかないけど（笑）
